The sweet taste of expansion

We hope you had a relaxing Easter weekend. To ease into the week we have lots of good news stories to satisfy your retail appetite. First up, 14 highlights from #MBFWCT17, with Meagan Duckitt sharing why Cape Town Fashion Week was a huge success, despite the weather wreaking havoc.

We also have insights ahead of Primedia Unlimited Malls' year-long rebrand and restructure with Molefi Moloantoa, CEO of Primedia Unlimited Malls, commenting that digitising the business plays a big part in understanding the shopper better in order to engage in a different, non-direct way.

Sticking with retailer news, The Crazy Store officially opened its 300th store on 13 April at the Kyalami Corner Shopping Centre in Midrand. MD, Kevin Lennett explains their plans for Botswanan expansion in Mowana Park Shopping Centre mid-May, expecting to open an additional 20 stores by the end of 2017.

Then if you're literally looking for something sweet to tickle your fancy, this week's #FreshOnTheShelf column explores two new toffee flavours from Darling Sweet - coffee and mint.

That's just a taste of our retail industry news this week, bite in!
