Catering to customer demand

In today's top story, coffee chain Vida e Caffè explains the growing demand for high street retail brands in large corporate environments; and caters to it with soon-to-launch stores at the new Discovery headquarters in Sandton, Siemens, Metropolitan Life Buildings in Bellville and Centurion and four stores within Dimension Data's offices in the Campus, Bryanston.

In other recent top-story news, Mastercard released the results of its inaugural Index of Women Entrepreneurs to coincide with International Women's Day which was celebrated on 8 March. According to the index, while South African women's full potential as entrepreneurs is yet to be unleashed, Uganda and Botswana rank first and second in the world with the highest percentages of women entrepreneurs.

In other interesting report insights, a Nielsen survey reveals that 92% of South Africans are willing to pay an above-average price for products that deliver higher quality; and recent Pricecheck research identified ‘ease and efficiency' as South Africans' most-liked aspect of online shopping.

Last but not least, don't forget to visit our 'Scan Display at EuroShop' special section for coverage from the 2017 EuroShop global retail trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany.
