Cross-border trade ripe for exponential growth

A recently published PayPal report revealed that cross-border online spend is on the rise. In South Africa alone, 43% of online consumers stated that they shopped online from websites in another country in the past 12 months. As such, a wealth of new opportunities exists for merchants and retailers to expand their international sales.

Focused on exactly this, the third eCommerce MoneyAfrica Confex kicked off in Cape Town on Wednesday, bringing together key decision makers in online retail, payments, customer insight and logistics businesses operating across Africa.

Chris Folayan, CEO of online retail giant Mall for Africa, was in attendance and in his keynote shared highly practical advice on facilitating a superior international online shopping experience - which you can read about in today's top story.

In #DesignMonth news, I chat to Nicki Ellis, owner of boutique homeware and décor studio Love Milo, who lets us in on what it takes to create locally-sourced, eco-friendly design that's easy on the eye.

Here's to a productive and profitable week!
