Henrie Geyser is a petrolhead from way back, having fallen in love with cars when he was still a pikkie sitting on his father's lap and steering the old family Chevrolet.

He raced sidecars at Killarney in the sixties and a Dart Flamingo in the eighties.

He has worked as a journalist in Cape Town, London and Windhoek for the Argus Company (now Independent Newspapers) and spent 12 years at The Cape Argus in Cape Town.

After running his own public relations consultancy for 13 years he sold the business to take up golf and build a Porsche Spyder replica while trying to make a living as a professional gambler.

After that character-building experience, he was lured by the smell of big money into the dot.com business, working at iafrica.com for five years as news editor and editor.

He finally bid farewell to daily office routine nearly ten years ago and has been a freelance journalist since then, writing about his favourite subjects - cars, gambling, golf, food, wine and travel for a variety of print media and internet websites.

Henrie is a member of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists and has attended a number of advanced driving courses.

He is married to Penny who is in the travel business and they live in Hout Bay.
