I assist businesses with maximising their BBBEE points within Skills development, Enterprise/Supplier development, Procurement, Socio-economic Development and Corporate Social Investment. Previously disadvantaged able and disabled learners, according to BEE score card requirements.
Our operational focus has always been, and continues to be guided and driven by the needs identified in specific social and economic settings. This is articulated most clearly in our drive to address the skills gap in South Africa in a way that produces a skilled graduates for industries where real and salient employment opportunities exist. Simply put, we must train for industries where jobs exist.
Where the early years of Sparrow were focused on bringing accredited schooling to cognitively disabled and disadvantaged youth, we have since established and expanded organizational structures to address a wider range of needs found in the current South African environment.
Key to the success we have experienced over the last 27 years is our insistence on ensuring that the training we offer is: 1) fully accredited; 2) delivered with unquestionable integrity; and 3) vetted by industry, most evident through the employment uptake of our students. This approach has lead to the growing reputation of Sparrow FET College as a provider of choice with various industry partners that is able to satisfy more than just the training needs of the partner.
The FET college offers SETA verified qualifications ranging from vocational, practical programs to programs that transfer computer-based and administrative skills.
What this means is that we offer a bouquet of programs that truly speak to the needs of industry, while also playing its part in the real and measurable development in the lives of the young students that pass through our institution.
