We are pleased that Man vs World, like with Jenny Powell's Luxury Uncovered, now includes episodes filmed here, this time with Rob Bell venturing through both Cape Town and the Garden Route."

Mortimer Harvey manages all public relations and marketing for Travel Channel on DStv Channel 179 in South Africa.

In Man Vs World, Rob Bell - adventurer, athlete, engineer - makes a series of point-to-point journeys through some of the world's most dynamic and exciting landscapes, but there's a catch; no engines are allowed. It will be all manpower, with a little help from Mother Nature, all of the way. Each day Rob will be up at dawn, ready to rise to the next challenge. From canyoning, paragliding and downhill mountain biking to white water canoeing, coasteering and mountain boarding; Rob will do whatever it takes to get to his destination before sunset.

Throughout his journey, covering demanding terrain across South Africa, Poland, the Czech Republic and the UK, Rob will meet a wide range of experts and guides, all with their own ideas and techniques that will help him navigate his way through coastlines, cliff faces, hillsides and river gorges. Each destination will present new challenges, testing Rob's nerve but allowing him to see the world from an entirely new perspective.

Episode 1 - Cape Town, South Africa

Man vs World

Rob Bell is in South Africa's Mother City for an epic journey across mountain, coast and city. Starting from the very top of Table Mountain, he'll be abseiling and hiking his way to the bottom, before jumping on his bike and heading right into the heart of the city. Meeting up with two rival Dragon Boat teams, it's a furious paddle and all out race to the historic V&A waterfront, where he'll board and crew an ocean-going yacht out into Table Bay. Rob will finally run 20km up the coast before trying his hand at yachting again, though this time it's on land; he finally takes to the sands on a Blowkart, the latest high adrenaline, wind-powered beach sport.

Episode 2 - Pieniny Mountains, Poland

Rob Bell starts his Polish journey by rock climbing up Mount Wdzar, literally getting to grips with the cliffs of Pieniny National Park. Back to the ground, Rob heads to the shores of Lake Czorsztyn, where Rowing Champion Bart Lesniak puts him through his paces as the pair scull across the lake at blistering race pace. Finally Rob swaps his sculls for a canoe and heads to the shores of the Dunajec River for an 18-kilometre paddle down the river gorge, to the spa town of Szczawnica for a very well deserved spa treatment.

Episode 3 - Cornwall, UK

Up at dawn to catch the tide, Rob Bell meets his guides at the water's edge, in the town of Wadebridge, for the first leg of his Cornish journey. He starts sea kayaking the Camel Estuary to Padstow, then it's a swift cycle through narrow Cornish roads to Treyarnon Bay, where he and his guides will be coasteering. Back on his bike, Rob heads south and completes the final stage of his journey with fast growing watersport stand-up paddle boarding, paddling home through the waves to his final destination of Watergate Bay.

Episode 4 - Garden Route, South Africa

Man vs World

Rob Bell tackles the mountains, rivers and coastline of South Africa's legendary Garden Route. First up is canyoning: Rob will be swimming, abseiling, sliding and jumping his way down the Salt River gorge. Then he's back on his bike, cycling the national highway to the infamous Bloukrans Bridge. The next day starts with trail running on the shores of the Indian Ocean, along the spectacular Otter Trail before cutting inland to finish his epic South African journey on horseback, riding with the giants of the African plains at the Plettenberg Game Reserve.

Episode 5 - Snowdonia, UK

Rob Bell starts his Welsh adventure 1,085 metres above sea level, at the summit of Mount Snowdon. He mountain bikes his way down the tracks and trails of the mountain, travels a mile through the air at 100 miles an hour on the Northern Hemisphere's longest fastest zipwire, before being confronted by the fast-flowing and unpredictable Menai Straits. Rob finally races to beat the tide as he wild swims his way to the Isle of Anglesey.

Episode 6 - Giant Mountains, Czech Republic

Rob Bell starts his Czech journey high above the clouds in a futuristic, Bond villain's lair of a hotel, on the summit of Mount Jested. He takes the fastest route down, paragliding to the foot of the mountain. He is then ready to meet pro cycling team, Bauknecht-Autor, for a grueling 95-kilometre cycle into the Giant Mountains. For the final stage of his journey, Rob gets to grips with a downhill trike, an American engineered scooter that mimics the action of downhill skiing, that will take him into the mountain resort of Spindleruv Mlyn for some much needed summertime après-ski.
