Landscapers put a spin on garden lustre in Courtyard Couture, demonstrating that a beautiful garden design can be achieved in a small space. With more and more homeowners moving to smaller dwellings such as town houses and complexes there is less space for a garden, but this doesn't mean there aren't eager green fingers itching to transform this small space into a luscious green oasis. 96m² of prime space in the dedicated Outdoor Themed area has been allocated to showcase the latest in garden design.

At Décor on a Budget six top designers show you how to achieve creative brilliance without breaking the bank. Following the huge success at the 2010 Gauteng HOMEMAKERS Expo, Décor on a Budget will yet again show that a beautiful room setting does not have to cost an arm and a leg. Participating decorators have been given a figurative budget of R20 000 in which they need to decorate a living area, from floors to wall decor, from furniture to lighting. Thus demonstrating that beautiful furniture and décor can be achieved on a budget - even when the finances seem tight!

Young creative artists will illustrate their latest work in the ever popular Future of Design. We all know that original and fresh design ideas are what give design its cutting edge. This incredible feature will include designs that are fresh, modern, and unique products or items that could be used in and around the home. Why be ordinary?

HOMEMAKERS will be doing their part for charity by fully supporting the Joburg Child Welfare 100 Doors project. The concept is in tribute to the 100 years Jo'burg Child Welfare has spent extending the "hope connection" to abused, neglected, abandoned, orphaned and vulnerable children in the greater Johannesburg area. To powerfully illustrate their work, resilience and relevance, they have solicited the help of 100 celebrated artists and celebrities to interpret and express-on doors-100 real-life stories of hope from our children, parents, staff and volunteers. Twenty of their most popular and well-regarded doors will be auctioned off at a gala event taking place on 10 February 2011 at the Ballroom at Montecasino. More of their doors will be featured and auctioned at the HOMEMAKERS Expo.

Now in its 18th year, the Gauteng HOMEMAKERS Expo is the country's largest, multi-award winning home interest show.

Love your home at the 2011 Gauteng HOMEMAKERS Expo.
