Exciting BenchArt Project at 2007 Cape Homemakers Expo

The 2007 BenchArt Project, which forms part of the annual Cape Homemakers Expo taking place this coming weekend (30 August to 2 September) at the CTICC, is set to once again warm the hearts of art lovers and philanthropists in the country and the Western Cape.

Now in its second year, well-known artists, designers and companies such as Bangkok Blondes, Caera O'Shaughnessy, Elizabeth Janse van Rensburg, Frik Myburgh, Johann Rissik, Mandela Park Mosaics, H. Martin F. Schulz, Kobus Dippenaar, Lourens Barnard, Mosaic Works, Murg, Newly Defined, Red Hot Glass, Roelie van Heerden, Shonna Steyn, Silas & Cheryl Loubser, Vivien Kohler, what if the world and Dot Dot Dot Ex Why Zed were invited to participate. The benches will be on display for the duration of the Expo and visitors will be able to bid on one or more of their favourite designs. The highest bidder on each ‘bench' will become the proud owner. All monies raised will be donated to Reach for a Dream.

“We're delighted with the response and would like to thank these artists and companies for giving so freely of their time and resources. They had carte blanche and the results are spectacular,” says John Leyden, MD of Homemakers Fair (Cape) (Pty) Ltd and organiser of the Expo.

Be sure not to miss this exciting addition to the Cape Homemakers Expo, the original home lifestyle consumer show incorporating the full spectrum of home improvement and home enhancement products.

The show is on at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 30 August to 2 September 2007. Tickets are R45 per person, children under 12 enter for free and pensioners pay only R25. For more information, phone (021) 465 2200 or log on to www.homemakersfaircape.co.za.
