Homemakers Expo is a well established expo in South Africa, and annually presents eight home enhancement shows in all major economic centres, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Vaal Triangle and Bloemfontein. More than 47 successful expos have been hosted since its inception 13 years ago. Each year more than 200 000 people visit these shows.

The Cape Homemakers Expo has become an annual highlight on the Cape Town calendar and was nominated as one of the three best consumer expos in the country by the Exhibition Association of South Africa (EXSA) in 2006.

If you are looking for inspiration for your home, a visit to this shows is a must. Homemakers Expos are focussed on home improvement and home enhancement products, ranging from the practical to the aspirational must-have items. A great added advantage is that visitors will find everything under one roof and can get professional advice directly from the exhibitors. Great care is taken by the organisers to ensure a balanced product mix and home lifestyle representation.

Says Cape Managing Director John Leyden, organiser of the expo, “We have been considering bringing Homemakers Expo to the Southern Cape for some time now. The region has seen a major influx of capital over the last eight years with domestic and commercial development. There has also been a boom in the home improvement industry, and to present a show of this nature, was the next logical step.”

He continues: “Although the expo will be of great value to the entire region we have decided to present it in George as it is considered to the be the powerhouse of the Southern Cape and it has the most suitable venue in the entire region.”

The Outeniqua Railway Museum is an excellent venue for a show of this statue, with ample parking, sufficient exhibition space and good visitor amenities. The perfect setting to create a festival of brilliant ideas for the home.

The Garden Route Homemakers Expo will have 200 stands and cover 3 950m² of exhibition space. Exhibitors at the show will include both local and national suppliers with the bulk of exhibitors being local Southern Cape businesses. This show is set to inspire both business and homeowners in the region.
