The nineteenth Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo, which took place from Thursday (4 September) to Sunday (7 September) at the CTICC, was again a hive of activity attracting more than 37,500 visitors looking for home improvement ideas and advice.
The overall winner of the best stand this year was Abacus Gardens. Gold awards were given to Artisan Joinery, Cover Frameless Glass, Easylife Kitchens, FG Frameless Glass, Joos Joiners, Palmers Exclusive Metals, Revelstone Cape, tuis |home and Whirlpool.
The best stand awards in the feature areas went to Cemstone, Interior Concepts, Recycabilia, Sweet Temptations and Joos Joiners.
Silver certificates were given to DStv, Eurafrican (Rosieres), Eva-Last Distributors, FNB, House of Crystal, Kitchenshow, Isoboard, Natural Stone Warehouse, Plantation Shutters, Portland Hollowcore, SA Décor and Design, Smeg, Swartland, The Organ Donor Foundation and WODC (World of Decorative Concrete).
Bronze certificates were awarded to Ambassador Doors & Windows, Blanco, Burglar Bar Studio, CapeCrete, Cash Tiles, Farriers Fine Furniture, Fenster Aluminium, Floors on the Go, Geberit Southern Africa, Le Creuset, MacNeil, Major Tech (Veti), NHBRC, Pepper Plum Designs, Plaza Board Centre, Reclaimed Woods, Sunflex South Africa, Teckendoor SA, Vintage Etc and Xpanda Security.
Says John Leyden, Business Development Director of HOMEMAKERS: "The 2014 Cape Homemakers Expo offered visitors a wide variety of home-related products and services ranging from finance to wine racks. Many exhibitors sold out and others generated business leads that will keep them busy for months to come. Our numbers have also increased to just over 37,500, which bodes well for future trading prospects.
"The quality of the exhibits were again of an extremely high standard and we received many comments from visitors that it was our best show ever.
