Draftfcb Johannesburg on new business, awards roll

Hot on the heels of being appointed by the Clinix Medical Group to develop a brand strategy and redesign of its identity, Draftfcb Johannesburg has won the Lil-lets Group Limited account.

Senior Brand Manager at the market-leading feminine hygiene brand, Vanessa Noomé, awarded the agency the account based on the brand strategy and insights it presented. “Draftfcb Johannesburg's overall presentation was strategically strong, and the depth and level of insight the pitch team showed were spot on. It looks like this is going to be an exciting and mutually beneficial relationship,” she said.

New business was not all the agency had to celebrate this week. At the annual AdReview Awards last week (April 21), it won two awards for its Player 23 campaign for Vodacom: ‘The Big Idea' and ‘Campaign of the Year' and also received some great creative news from London. Of the seven ‘award' categories that will feature in the 2010 D&AD Annual, two are taken up by an ad created by one of its copywriters. The agency's Jonathan Stillwell wrote the ‘El Loco' spot for Toyota South Africa to promote the use of genuine parts; the ad won an ‘In Book' award in the category Radio Commercials over 30 seconds as well as a ‘Nomination' in category Writing.
