The Gauteng Cricket Board appointed 34 to launch a campaign to highlight and celebrate the stadium's unique viewing experience and infectious vibe.

Says 34 Creative Director, Geraint Gronow: “We know the Bullring offers an amazing experience where every cheer is amplified, whilst watching some fast-paced, high-intensity cricket. So the new campaign focused on inviting fans to experience the “rumble” caused by thousands of passionate fans coming together to support their team at the stadium they love, in a way that only Joburg can.”

“The look and feel of the campaign also echoes this electric atmosphere”, continues Gronow, “we’ve incorporated striking visuals echoing the kind of intensity fans can expect to experience at The Bidvest Wanderers Stadium, and incorporated elements that are synonymous to the ground.”

And the campaign truly came to life when Johannesburg came out in their droves to attend the two sold-out matches during the England tour. The first was the Pink Day ODI, which always serves up an electric day, and this time round was amplified tenfold! The Proteas had to win this match in order to stay in the running for the ODI series (SA has never lost in pink), and did not disappoint. The second was the T20 International on 21 February, where big hitters Amla, De Villiers and Du Plessis raised the roof with their exceptional strike rate, securing an emphatic 9-wicket win for Proteas.

Gauteng Cricket Board CEO, Greg Fredericks, commented: “As a company we are dedicated to ensuring that the Bullring achieves its full potential. This is a truly world-class stadium and fans love attending events held here as shown in our stadium experience survey. This campaign complements the stadium, its atmosphere and our vision of further cementing The Bidvest Wanderers as an iconic ground in world cricket. I look forward to engaging with our consumers in a completely new and innovative way as a result of this.”

As trusted partners, Gauteng Cricket Board has also awarded 34 a suite to enjoy the “rumble” first hand.
