Change your life - visit the TSiBA Business School's Open Day on 16th March!

Planning to study further is one of the most important choices you will ever make. But not everyone has the means to pay for tertiary studies. The Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA) is a unique private, not-for-profit business school created to assist people who have difficulty in accessing educational opportunities with tuition scholarships to help them get a jump start in life.

TSiBA's mission is to provide excellent business education for people with a social conscience who have the desire and the skills to build our nation. For this reason, TSiBA does not require students to 'pay back' their scholarships but rather to 'Pay it Forward'.

Adri Marais, CEO and TSiBA co-founder, says, "TSiBA was founded as a not-for-profit higher education institution in 2004 with a mission to graduate entrepreneurial leaders who ignite opportunity and social change which is why we select people who want to make a difference in their communities. TSiBA graduates leave with a fully accredited business degree, 99% chance of finding a job and the skill set that enables them to successfully undertake advanced tertiary education. TSiBA secures funding and sponsors so students are not required to pay the institution back for the full tuition scholarships that it provides, but rather to 'Pay it Forward' to their community."

Bethwill Cloete, TSiBA's Recruitment Officer and TSiBA Graduate, says, "On Open Day we open the doors to the public so people can visit the campus, get to meet students and experience TSiBA first-hand. Students all say how TSiBA feels like you're part of a community - you are more than a just a student number to staff and colleagues. We invest in our students and want them to succeed by giving focused attention to students to grow their leadership and entrepreneurship skills."

Nokuthula Siswana, first year Higher Certificate in Business Administration (HCBA) student, sums it up when she says, "I am enjoying every moment of being at TSiBA. Every day I gain new experiences and knowledge. Most of all, knowing that I have a second family on campus makes me feel at home."

Cloete continues, "We are targeting any student with an interest in business to apply, especially if they want to use their education to benefit others. However, as the courses place emphasis on leadership and entrepreneurship those are great skills which could apply to any career. When you leave school it is difficult to know what job opportunities exist. To give examples, currently TSiBA Graduates are working at big organisations like Oceana, Old Mutual, Sanlam, JP Morgan and Prudential in various roles like Investment, Finance, Human Resources, Client Service and of course some have become entrepreneurs in their own businesses. What makes TSiBA even more unique is that we have a Career Centre which works with students while they are studying, as well as after they leave TSiBA to help find employment."

TSiBA is registered and fully accredited with the Department of Higher Education as a private higher education institution. TSiBA Cape Town's academic programme consists of an accredited Higher Certificate in Business Administration (HCBA) which acts as a bridging year into TSiBA's accredited and enriched Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Entrepreneurial Leadership. The curriculum uniquely integrates knowledge, skills and attitude. TSiBA's unique 'Profile of Graduateness' has been carefully designed to match the needs of employers/or the competencies needed to be a successful entrepreneur. TSiBA has two campuses in the Western Cape - an urban campus in Pinelands, Cape Town and a rural campus, TSiBA Eden, in the town of Karatara, near Knysna.

To be accepted at TSiBA applicants need to have matric, but can apply with a higher certificate instead of a degree level pass. Those who are older than 25 years can apply for recognition of prior learning. Applications for 2014 are now officially open.
