e.tv wins big at SAFTAs

e.tv won 13 coveted SAFTA awards this past weekend at the 10th South African Film And Television Awards. The event was held at Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg where the biggest names in the film and television industry were out in full force.

Umlilo, Ashes To Ashes, Rhythm City, Matatiele and Ultimate Braai Master each received the Golden Horn in the respective categories they were nominated in. The competition was tough, but e.tv's productions rose to the occasion and stood proud amongst their industry peers.

Below is the list of e.tv winners:

Best Reality Show: Ultimate Braai Master

Best Achievement in Scriptwriting - TV Drama: Umlilo

Best Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design - TV Drama: Umlilo

Best Achievement in Make-Up and Hairstyling - TV Drama: Matatiele

Best Achievement in Directing - TV Drama: Matatiele

Best Achievement in Cinematography - TV Drama: Umlilo

Best Actress in a Supporting Role - TV Drama: Charmaine Mtinta (NoRain Sangqu in Matatiele)

Best TV Drama - Umlilo

Best Achievement in Scriptwriting - TV Soap: Rhythm City

Best Achievement in Editing - TV Soap: Ashes To Ashes

Best Actress in a Supporting Role - TV Soap: Maggie Bendict (Violet in Ashes To Ashes)

Best Achievement in Directing - TV Soap: Rhythm City

Best TV Soap: Rhythm City

Mduduzi Mabaso, who plays Suffocate on Rhythm City, and Fulu Mugovhani, who plays Anzani on Scandal!, both walked away with the award for best actor and actress in a lead role in a feature film respectively. Mandla Gaduka, who plays Damian on Ashes To Ashes, won Best Actor in a Lead Role - TV Comedy and Tina Jaxa, who featured on Gold Diggers and now Ashes To Ashes, won Best Actress in a Supporting Role - Feature Film.
