Rise of the computers

In today's world, it is becoming a necessity to be well versed with communication technologies such as computers. Computers are playing a crucial role in everything from research to shopping. This has created a whole new niche market of job opportunities for the tech savvy learner or aspiring IT specialist.

Many people struggle with using computers. Installing programs, backing up computer systems or simply setting up email accounts can be a daunting task even for those proficient in using computers.

A qualification in Information Technology (IT) is a great way for technically minded people to make a career out of what they know and love. A qualification will help with self-development and open up job opportunities with the skills gained in the course.

People that wish to study a diploma often struggle because they have work and family commitments. Fortunately, there are many part-time study options such as the Damelin Diploma in IT. The classes can be taken at night, or on Saturday which will not interfere with the student’s existing responsibilities.

The diploma teaches skills such as programming, software engineering and web design that will be used in the workplace. Because the course is taken part time and is designed for students with personal commitments, it is spread out over four years with lectures that are between 5.30-8.30pm. This makes it easier for students to attend classes.

The diploma is structured to prepare students for careers as a Network Administrator, Data Processor, Web Developer, Programmer, IT Analyst, IT Project Manager or a Systems Analyst and Designer. There are options to study part time for students who are passionate about computers and technology but don’t have the time to do it full time. With hard work and dedication, an IT Diploma is possible.
