The nationwide drive is an initiative to assist learners with the opportunity to rewrite their matric without having the financial setback of looking for money to redo their matric.

The campaign which was launched on Gagasi FM and Kaya FM received a phenomenal response, with hundreds of entries. Ten lucky winners were each awarded bursaries to the value of R20,000 each.

Gagasi FM Winner, Sphesihle Gamede, said, “I didn’t believe it at first, I am so happy to have a second chance to turn my life around. I have been struggling for the last five years and this bursary will give me the opportunity to reach my dreams. I would like to become a motivational speaker for the youth and one day inspire people to go further in education.”

Andiswa Dlulwako, another excited winner, said, “I am currently a part-time waitress and winning this award will create better employment opportunities for me and allow me to study further.”

With the aim to provide a second chance, people who have failed matric or have not fared well in some subjects will now have the opportunity to start over.

The rewrite programme was initiated by INTEC to help people start their career journey. Group Head of Communications for Educor, Jessie Naidoo, said, “Today a matric certificate is as crucial as your book of life. It is your entry to further education and building your career. We embarked on this campaign because we recognised how important a matric qualification is.”

The INTEC rewrite programme is open until 15 March 2016. It offers simple study material, student support and personalised attention. Through distance learning, students can rewrite matric around their schedule as they don’t need to attend classes. For INTEC registrations contact: 0861 173 173 or visit: www.intec.edu.za.

INTEC also offers a wide range of other courses for students to pursue and these fall under the schools of Business, Computer, Creative, Vocational and Technical.
