Oasys stays in the race for this year's Durban July

Oasys Innovations will once again provide the electrical infrastructure for this year's Vodacom Durban July. This will be the seventh consecutive year for the Oasys Electrical team.

Says Kevin Cuthbert-Hughes, Chief Operating Officer for Oasys Electrical: “Event World, the event organiser, has contracted Oasys Electrical to again provide all the electrical infrastructure for the Durban July's Marquee Village. Vodacom has taken this event well beyond the former Rothman's July and will be attracting record numbers of spectators, punters, owners, breeders and horses.” This year 'July Fever' at Greyville Racecourse will reach a high on Saturday 5 July. Sixty horses have been entered and fashionistas are already planning their outfits. The 2008 Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award will also be judged on the day.

As this is Oasys Electrical's seventh year providing electrical supply at the Durban July, Cuthbert-Hughes and his team are well prepared for the event. ”Our preparation begins two weeks prior to the actual event. The electrical infrastructure is required for catering, bands that will be performing during the event, electronic imaging, digital screens, and of course most importantly the totes. This will be providing for much more than just an average visit to a racecourse. We will also be responsible for all the general lighting in the various marquees in the Marquee Village, as well as the lighting towers located in the various parking areas. Over 50 000 people attend the July and the event has a reputation for luxury and elegance. This focus ensures that only the very best is acceptable when preparing for South Africa's premier racing event and all necessary safety measures and precautions will be observed.”

The Vodacom Durban July has become an integral part of South Africa's social and sporting landscape. Oasys Electrical will be keeping the lights on for all of us at this year's event.
