ContiSure Warranty takes the sting out of tyre replacement

There's good news for motorists who are all too familiar with the pitfalls of South African potholes and other surprises that lie in wait for unsuspecting vehicle tyres. Continental has just launched its ContiSure Warranty at Tiger Wheel & Tyre stores, nationwide.

The new ContiSure Warranty will entitle customers to receive a credit towards the purchase of a new replacement tyre, or tyres, when suffering irreparable damage to that tyre. The warranty applies to all Continental branded passenger or light commercial vehicle, SUV and 4x4 tyres purchased from and fitted by Tiger Wheel & Tyre.

How much credit the customer receives is subject to a simple set of terms of conditions, which can be read in full on the website www.twt.to.

If the damage occurs within the first 30 days or 2000km of purchase, whichever comes first, customers will receive a full credit for their damaged tyre/s. Thereafter, the credit will be based on the warranted tyre’s remaining tread, less the legal minimum 1mm, and expressed as a percentage of the original tread depth. In simple terms, customers will get a credit value that is based on the remaining tread of their tyres, and which will be applied to their purchase of a new replacement Continental tyre/s.

Activation of the ContiSure warranty is automatic and the warranty is valid for two years from date of purchase. All the customer must do to maintain the warranty, is keep their receipt and visit Tiger Wheel & Tyre at every 10,000km or at least once per annum (whichever comes first) for wheel alignment and balancing. These services must be recorded in the ContiSure Warranty booklet.

“Potholes and other road hazards are no picnic and an unbudgeted-for tyre replacement can really put a hole in your wallet,” said Joe du Plooy, Tiger Wheel & Tyre Group Marketing Executive. “At least with the ContiSure Warranty, our customers will be credited for their remaining tread and that typically goes a long way to taking the sting out of tyre replacement.”
