Theo de Jager elected as World Farmer's Organisation president

Past deputy president of Agri SA, Theo de Jager, has been elected as president of the World Farmer's Organisation, in Helsinki, Finland. De Jager has represented Agri SA in the Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Union's for the past eight years and recently stepped down as president of the Pan African Farmers Organisation, and as chairperson of the Non-state Actors Coalition of Nepad. De Jager has also acted as chairperson of Agri SA's general affairs chamber and transformation committee for 10 years in the associations' general council.

Alfred Bands, a fellow South African, has also been elected as a board member for the African continent.
