Job description

Duties and responsibilities
  • Manage the station operations and programming.
  • Ensure that the station complies with all statutory requirements.
  • Manage all radio station contracts and agreements.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Compile and present reports to the executive committee, board of trustees and advisory board.
  • Manage finances and the budget of the station with sales targets.
  • Manage staff and other resources including the radio station infrastructure.


Education and qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • MS Office packages
  • Drivers licence
  • Exposure to the broadcasting industry with regards to legislation, regulations and codes governing radio broadcasting.
  • Business and finance skills to manage budget and resources to maximise revenue.
  • Setting strategic objectives in terms of output, audience and revenue.
  • Communication skills to build relationships with the community.
  • Confidence and decisiveness to lead and motivate staff/creative teams.
  • Compilation of sales proposals and contracts.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in middle management.
