Job description

To perform the business analysis and the delivery of process or technological solutions to meet business requirements and objectives. The Business Analyst will be expected to ensure quality solutions are delivered to the business by means of tracking statistical reports, workflow/processes and functional specifications against expected business outcomes. High level responsibilities:

1. Business analysis and business case development
2. Project management of allocated tasks/projects
3. Business process mapping and process improvement initiatives supporting Business Process Management
4. Review, interpret and analyze business rules and requirements for technical systems.
5. Transfer of product requirements to system architects, including project management i.e. new product initiatives
6. System and user acceptance testing upon delivery from vendors

Main duties and responsibilities:
  1. Document other business and technical specifications as required: Use cases, activity diagrams, sequencing diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, deployment diagrams, etc.
  2. Supplement rules and requirements with functional, non-functional & technical specifications, document these as solution acceptance criteria.
  3. Client, business and MIS report enhancements and development of new reports.
  4. Documentation of processes to be used as training manuals.
  5. Collecting; understanding and transmitting business requirements for all projects, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
  6. Bring about operational efficiency through development of interface capabilities with 3rd party vendors, workflow tools; new in-house systems.
  7. Act as the link and drive interactions between the client, development team and any third party throughout the development lifecycle.
  8. Transfer of business new product/initiative requirements to system architects.
  9. Assess impacts to processes/systems by legislative/regulatory changes in the Industry.
  10. Assist with client services support, client quality assurance, adhoc projects and project management from time to time
Ideal experience:
  1. Business Analyst with at least 5 years’ experience in a Unit Trust Management company, Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) and/or Asset Management arena.
  2. Proven track record of enhancements and product developments on the Oracle Flexcube Investor Servicing application.
  3. Proven track record of implementation of correspondence engine components and amendment to correspondence artifacts.
  4. Proven track record of implementations and customization of peripheral systems required around the Oracle Flexcube Investor Servicing application.
  5. In-depth knowledge of the full end-to-end services, systems and processes required in an Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) environment.
  6. Understanding of systems interactions within the context of business process delivery (i.e. workflow system, CRM, BPM, batch systems and data warehousing).
  7. Financial markets and investment administration experience in particular.
  8. Previous project management experience will be advantageous.


  1. BComm (IS), BComm Hons, BBusSc with a specialization in Investment Management or Computer Science fields (with strong Mathematical background or subject knowledge an advantage).
  2. Diploma in Business Analysis
  3. Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning or studying towards this qualification will be advantageous
  4. Oracle Flexcube; Basic SQL knowledge, MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Asset Management IM systems, Investment Management Retail systems, CRM systems, BPM systems
