South Africa's .ZA domain administrator, ZACR, has been announced as an official registrar for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN). The ICANN ensures that the web operates efficiently and accordingly with regards to detailed naming and numbering systems.
As an official registrar, ZACR will be able to sell any ICANN gTLD (generic Top Level Domain) directly to end internet consumers. ZACR is also set to launch its Proxy Registrar with new prices, soon. The ZACR Proxy Registrar will allow non-accredited ICANN Registrars to resell ICANN gTLDs.
