Five of Airports Company South Africa's airports were included in the 2017 Skytrax World Airport Awards' top 10 best airports in Africa. Cape Town International Airport was named the overall winner followed by King Shaka International which placed second, OR Tambo International placed third, East London Airport was listed at six and Port Elizabeth Airport rounded off the list at 10.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards recipients are selected from the 13,82m airport survey questionnaires that were completed by air travellers from 105 different countries between July 2016 and February 2017. Skytrax said that the survey was conducted at 550 airports around the world and evaluated traveller experiences across different airport service and product key performance indicators.
