Trainees fluent in Mandarin following tourism department's programme

The 20 trainees selected, including aha Lesedi's Phelisa Matyolo and Ziyanda Mtshali, to participate in the tourism department's Mandarin programme have achieved an 88% pass rate. The trainees selected to participate had come from establishments that had seen a growing number of Chinese visitors in the country.

The programme is as a result of the SA and Chinese governments' tourism cooperation agreement in 2013 and has now produced 20 trainees fluent in Mandarin. Tourism minister, Derek Hanekom presented the trainees with their certificates at a ceremony held, late last year.
