Education In brief South Africa

Crowdfunding sought for 'Sibo Saves Water', 'Sibo Looks Right' for schools

Sibo Saves Water was published in 2009 and has been in random schools and libraries since then. It covers all the issues that are important, as South Africa once again faces a drought.

The author of the Sibo series, Ginny Stone, is currently trying to find funding to have it reprinted so that it can be given out freely to kids and schools. "It is no secret that children are conduits of information and are powerful when it comes to changing family behaviour," says Stone.

"We are currently crowdfunding for 'Sibo Looks Right', to get this fun book on road safety out freely to schools, crucial in South Africa. We are very close to 30% funded already in just two weeks and have passed the tipping point so we will be able to publish an e-book but the real thing is first prize.
