Paul Cluver Wines' Seven Flags Chardonnay 2016 was named the Best Chardonnay in the World at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards in London, UK. Paul Cluver Wines was one of two South African wine producers to receive the medal at the awards; Klein Constantia received the Platinum Best in Show award for its Vin de Constance.
This year, the 219 expert judges (which included 65 masters of wine and 20 master sommeliers) tasted 17,200 entries that were narrowed down to the 34 Platinum Best in Show medal winners.
