SA's maize output is expected to be 9.84-million tons in 2015‚ up 0.80% from last month's estimate‚ the crop estimates committee said in its fourth production estimate report for this year.
The white maize output estimate rose 1.57% 4.73-million tons and the yellow variety edged up 0.09% to 5.10-million tons.
The committee said the latest estimates were based on objective yield survey results for the Free State.
Production estimates for sunflower and soybeans were left unchanged.
