    Exhibition of Algeria's telecoms potential

    An exhibition to showcase the progress made by Algeria in the area of information and communication technologies called 'Sabie 2007' is to be held in the capital, Algiers in from 3 - 7 September 2007.

    The Algeria World Trade Centre in partnership with the ministry of posts, information and telecommunications, and the Algerian Society for Fair Trades and Exhibitions are the main organisers of the event that is expected to assemble information and communications experts from the African continent and overseas destinations.

    "The objective of this event is to reflect the image and the evolution of the nation's economic activities and encourage the usage of information and communication technologies in Algeria," said Hoceine Saibi, principal councillor of WTCA.

    He adds that "Trades and saloons are an occasion for Algerian exhibitors to demonstrate competences and good command in producing high technology and also promoting partnerships between Algerian enterprises and international organisations."

    Thus 'Sabie 2007' will enable local and foreign manufacturers to exhibit different products ranging from educative, to creative and entertaining equipment - video games, cosmetics, computers, radio and TV sets.

    The exhibition will be followed by a similar one in October to be called the 'Hi-Tec 2007', to be dedicated exclusively to the development and applications of information and communication technologies in Algeria.

    According to Sabie approximately, 2600 square metres of space will be made available for exhibition to 30 enterprises offering a wide range of products and equipments such as: computing equipments, solution and application software, telecommunications, satellite products, security systems, etc.

    "Hi-Tec 2007 is reserved only for professionals of ICTs in order to keep high standards of professionalism," concluded Saibi.
