The competition, first launched in November 2016, is open to working professionals employed in companies in South Africa, with a particular focus in financial services, telecommunications, professional services, and ICT/technology consulting and services.

The selection process is based on merit and potential and the winner will secure a place for the March 2018 intake of one of Digital Skills Academy’s international BSc Degree programmes in digital skills.

Last year’s winner, 31-year-old Standard Bank technical business analyst Themba Tshamano said he expected Digital Skills Academy to help him fast-track his career progress. Tshamano had already planned to enroll for a BSc Computer Science degree when he won the award to join Digital Skills Academy’s international BSc Degree. “What is particularly exciting for me is the course’s focus on practical implementations, innovation and entrepreneurship. These are all areas I feel will help me develop as a well-rounded professional who can deliver real value to the company I work for,” said Tshamano after winning the Digital Talent Bursary.

CEO and founder of Digital Skills Academy, Paul Dunne said, “This bursary is designed to reward a high potential ICT professional with a valuable opportunity to enhance his or her digital skills and with long-term benefits for both the professional and the company they work for."

Applications are now open at digitalskillsacademy.com/digital-talent-bursary and the closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 7 January 2018.
