The TOPS at SPAR Bierfest brings the best of Bavarian bier culture to Sun Park, including its own, specially brewed Oktoberfest bier, which is brewed once a year for the occasion, as well as the firm favourite craft beer, Newlands Spring Brewing Co.
While traditional oompah music remains a staple, this year’s event sees the inclusion of popular rock mash up band, The Rockerfellas, in the entertainment lineup. Utilising the concept of the musical mash up made famous by DJs and dance music producers, this five piece band of musicians blends the biggest hits of the 70s, 80s, 90s and now, into a musical medley that should have revelers up and dancing.
“Since inception in 2010, the TOPS at SPAR Bierfest has delivered South Africans a taste of the Munich Oktoberfest right to their doorsteps.
