The SAB Sports Media Awards for 2011 were announced earlier this week. This year the awards included updated categories, independent auditors and online submissions.

Good year for Angus Powers

In addition to the two prizes listed above, Powers won a PICA for Feature Writer of the Year at the magazine industry's annual PICA Awards and was named overall Journalist of the Year and Investigative Journalist of the Year, at the Media24 Magazine Excellence Awards earlier this month.

His award-winning submissions include:
