Rob van Vuuren stars in The Brave Cartel's content for Hellmann's

When digital agency Liquorice and their client, Unilever, wanted to create a fun, entertaining way to teach food lovers about better burger-making, they approached The Brave Cartel.

Writer director Yolande Botha collaborated with producer Platon Trokoshis and the Liquorice team to create one four-minute video, supported by two 30-second teasers for online use.

The idea: take two quirky characters who don't know what goes into a gourmet burger, and take them to top burger joints to learn from the experts. Leading the way was well-known comedian and actor Rob van Vuuren, with his side-kick, the uninspired griller character, Mitch. It's all brought to you, of course, by the most amazing mayonnaise, Hellmann's.

The team visited BGR in Joburg's Keyes Mile, Royale in Long Street, Cape Town, and travelling food truck The Knob to find the best tips. And although the videos really do educate, they entertain too.

The results: to date, the two 30-second teasers have had over 220k views each, with the full four-minute movie enjoying over 72,000 views.
