ABF hosts Poker Night

With media agency OMD as a headline sponsor, the ABF is looking forward to hosting media and creative agencies, and media owners at its next fundraiser on 19 November. OMD has very generously put R5,000 in cash prizes up for grabs!

"We rely heavily on participation from our advertising and media industry contacts in order for the ABF to continue assisting our colleagues in the industry that have fallen on hard times," says the ABF's Acting President John Bowles. "We are immensely grateful for industry partners like OMD who support us."

The Poker Evening will take place at Fillet in Douglasdale on the 19th November from 6pm. Entry is R300 per person or R3000 for a table of 10 players. Snacks and drinks will be on sale. RSVP to to book your place.

OMD's Marco Santos says the ABF is a worthy cause: "We're pleased that we can assist the ABF in any way and we are really looking forward to a great night with industry colleagues, and in the process raising some much needed funds for the ABF."

The ABF is a non-profit organisation helping those in the advertising, media and allied industries that have fallen on hard times. Amongst its many contributions, the ABF , in conjunction with Lifeline have a dedicated 24/7 call centre line for people in the Advertising, Media and related industries who need counselling or treatment for stress, HIV/AIDS and substance abuse problems. The ABF also provides study in the field to deserving, underprivileged students with institutions like the AAA.
