It's alive and vibrant, but in dire need of world-class tertiary training institutions to tap into that potential.

For those looking for inspiration before the 14 June deadline for the Loeries, a visit to the Loeries Exhibition at Markex will provide an opportunity to view last year's winning work at the Sandton Convention Centre from 11-13 June.
Loerie entries are now open, and those that get their work in by 15 April 2013; get 10% off their entry fee. The final deadline for entries is 31 May and agencies or marketers throughout Africa and the Middle East can enter their work.
This year saw the introduction of a new category at The Loerie Awards - for the Rest of Africa and the Middle East, sponsored by the Mail & Guardian. The category gave non-South African work a chance to shine and the audience saw two Gold Loeries awarded, as well as three Silver statues and seven Bronzes.
